Dorchester's Daughter Publishing

Dorchester’s Daughter Publishing seeks to publish and distribute urban fiction specifically. All manuscripts which are not considered urban fiction according to our editorial guidelines will not be reviewed or returned. Dorchester’s Daughter reserves the right to be selective with regard to submissions.  We only accept completed novels for the purpose of review. Partial novels or chapter samples will not be reviewed or returned. Your submission must clearly display your name, address, phone number(s) and email address (if applicable) so that we may easily contact you. Please include your name and the title of the novel on the header of each page of your submission.

Electronic submissions must be double spaced and in PDF form; we will not review Word documents or equivalent. Paper manuscripts must be typed, double-spaced and bound. No exceptions. Manuscripts which do not adhere to submission guidelines will not be reviewed. Submissions must be accompanied by a cover letter and chapter outline.

*The cover letter should introduce the author and include detailed synopsis of the novel. Please also include a word count. The cover letter/synopsis should be no longer than two pages, please include an entire summary of the novel; include any surprises and plot twists.

*Within the chapter outline, we request that you detail the book chapter by chapter.  This outline should be a simple bulleted list highlighting each individual chapter.

Unfortunately, due to high volume, we are unable to provide detailed feedback/coaching or return any submissions. Please remember to copyright and keep a copy of your manuscript. It may take anywhere from 1-8 months to review your submission. We thank you in advance for your patience. If you would like confirmation that we have received your paper submission, and did not include a delivery confirmation with your mailing, please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
